Preparations
Vassourinha is taken in the form of a tincture, infusion (tea), decoction, and in capsules. Traditionally prepared as an infusion, the suggested dosage is 1 cup, 2 times daily.
To prepare an infusion of Vassourinha, place 1 tsp. of the plant powder in a tea ball or gauze bag and allow the powder to steep in 5 oz. (150 mL) of freshly boiled hot water in a covered ceramic pot for 10–15 minutes. Pour the infusion through a fine strainer to remove any sediment and allow it to cool for a time before drinking. Refrigerate unused portions in a well-sealed container.
